This is one of the first shows Morte signed after Money Heist took the whole world by a storm. Also known as ‘The Pier’, the show tells the story of Alejandra, an architect based in Valencia whose husband, Oscar dies under unknown circumstances. The crew consists of a team of scientists, also known as the ‘Winterers’, who have decided to stay in the South Pole to carry on with their research even during the winters where the sun goes down for 6 whole months.
The story begins when a commander returns to the station in spring and finds that most of the ‘Winterers’ are either dead or missing with just one scientist who managed to survive. The Wheel Of Time
This upcoming series is an adaptation of a fantasy book series written by Robert Jordan and is being developed by Sony Pictures Television and Amazon Studios. Although the production of the show has been postponed due to the wrath of coronavirus, it will most likely begin streaming by 2021. The story takes place both in the past, as well as the future and is about a man who realises that he is the reincarnation of the messiah of the world and has been destined to save it once again from the ‘Dark One’, an embodiment of evil. It has been revealed that Morte will be playing the role of Logain Ablar.
As per the books, Ablar is the defender of truth and justice of a place called the ‘Black Tower’. It would be very interesting to see him adding his own touch to this genre of fantasy, something Álvaro Morte hasn’t attempted before in his entire career.
No matter how great all his other roles seem, Morte’s portrayal of The Professor has been imprinted in our hearts, with his gentle eyes, soft beard, tailored suit and a classic spectacle. Even if one has never attempted a bad deed ever in their lives, even they won’t be able to stop themselves from appreciating the skilful planning and the splendid strategies of the professor behind every heist!
