For a while, it was looking like Ant Man 3 would not be happening, and even if it did happen, it was not going to be a movie. But Ant Man 3 was confirmed on 1st November 2019 with Peyton Reed back to direct it. With this Reed becomes the first director to oversee an entire movie trilogy of Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) movies. James Gunn was supposed to the first one to this record, but with Guardians of Galaxy 3’s delay, it will be Peyton Reed who claims it.
Here’s everything we know as of yet about Ant Man 3 and what the future might hold for Scott Lang, Hope Van Dyke.
Like every other Marvel movie, the plot details are going to be a big secret, but there are plenty of potential stories we the audience can expect from Ant Man 3. We saw Ant Man and the Wasp working together to save the universe in Avengers: Endgame, and due to Endgame’s time jump, we got to see Scott Lang’s teenage daughter Cassie. Now, this has left fans wondering whether we get to see Cassie joining the Young Avengers as Stature like in comic books.
In Ant Man and the Wasp’s unforgettable mid-credits scene, we saw Scott harvesting energy from the quantum realm to help the “new Ghost friend”, from which we can suggest that Hannah John-Kamen’s character could be back for Ant Man 3 as an ally. There are plenty of theories, but today The Hollywood Tribune would not be delving into that.
Cast of Ant Man 3
It will be a huge surprise for the fans if they don’t get to see Paul Rudd,Evangeline Lily back as Scott Lang/Ant Man and Hope van Dyne/The Wasp respectively. Although Michael Douglas has already confirmed that he would be returning as Hank Pym, so once again we can expect Michelle Pfeiffer as Janet van Dyke.
Other cast members like Michael Pena as the talkative Luis, Judy Greer as Scott’s ex-wife Maggie and Bobby Cannavale as Maggie’s new husband Jim Paxton are set to return. With Endgame’s time jump Abby Ryder Fortson won’t be back as Cassie Lang and instead we will get to see Emma Fuhrmann as Cassie.
When is Ant Man 3 set to Release?
Till now there’s no official release date at the moment, but Michael Douglas has reported that the movie will start filming in January 2021, so a 2022 release can be expected from their end. Disney has 22nd July 2022 reserved for an “untitled Marvel project” and this would make perfect sense for Ant Man 3 considering the films previous two release.
When can we expect to see Ant Man 3 trailer?
If we consider a 2022 release, then we can expect some footage at Comic-Con 2021 only if the third film has started filming by then.
