Castlevania is an animated series on Netflix, the series borrows its name and story from a Japanese video game by Konami, while the first and second season of the show takes inspiration from the 1989 Castlevania 3: Dracula’s Curse, various elements from the 2005 Castlevania: Curse of Darkness have been found in the third season and parts of the second season.
The series premiered in 2017 on the 7th of July and was renewed for another which came out on October 26, 2018, and while it hasn’t been much time as, since the release of season 3 aired on March 5, 2020, fans have already begun to speculate what the 4th season of the series will be like.
Castlevania Season 4 Release date
As Adi Shankar, the executive producer of the series is heading another video game TV adaptation, Devil May Cry, there could be delays in the production of Castlevania.
Though being an animated series, Castlevania could potentially overcome a delayed release due to the current world scenario which has shut down the production of all of the live-action series’.
What will Castlevania Season 4 be about?
The Writer of the series, Warren Ellis in his talks with Entertainment Weekly said: “Everything in season three gets launched into the air. I have to bring it all down in season four.”
While the first two seasons of the series involved mostly fights and battles between different characters, the third season was more centred on the plot as we saw four different parallel storylines running throughout the season.
As the Devil May Cry television series is also in plans, the fans are speculating whether we will see a crossover between the two in the upcoming season. Season 4 is also supposed to continue the trend of adding more episodes than the previous season.
Castlevania Season 4 Cast
Most of the cast of the show will likely remain the same as Richard Armitage reprises his role as Trevor Belmont though there will be some changes as the previous season saw the death of some characters such as Sumi (Rila Fukushima), Taka (Toru Uchikado), and The Judge (Jason Isaacs).
Some of the other main cast to reprise their roles will be:
- James Callis as Adrian “Alucard” Tepes
- Alejandra Reynoso as Sypha Belnades
- Theo James as Hector
- Adetokumboh M’Cormack as Isaac
- Jaime Murray as Carmilla
- Jessica Brown Findlay as Lenore
- Yasmine Al Massri as Morana
- Ivana Milicevic as Striga
- Bill Nighy as Saint Germain
The show has built quite a fan base throughout the years, and it would be great to see what the writer is going to come up with for the fourth instalment of Castlevania.
Produced by Powerhouse Animation Studios and Frederator Studios, all the three seasons of the series are available to stream on Netflix.
