The highly anticipated Cyberpunk 2077 by CD Projekt Red will finally be available this fall. Although the open-world, highly-immersive title was originally teased seven years ago, now, finally we know when we might actually get to own a copy. Needless to say, Cyberpunk 2077 is expected to be a contender for the title of the biggest video game of 2020.
Players will control V, a technologically enhanced mercenary, in one of the first major new titles releasing this decade. The game will explore the fictional Night City, California in search of a “mod” that grants immortality. V will participate in various quests along the way, given to them by “Fixers”, combat adversaries either on foot or by means of automated transportation, and alter their personage with cyberware.
Sounds like a lot of fun? Well, for all we know, this could be the best game ever. But, for now, here’s everything you need to know about the launch of CyberPunk 2077, the different editions it’s available in, and pre-order bonuses.
CyberPunk 2077 Release Date
Here’s the big one. September 17, 2020. There, it’s out. CyberPunk 2077’s release date isn’t very far and we cannot be more excited about what it’ll look like. Well, the official YouTube channel for CyberPunk 2077 solved that one for us. Check out the Gameplay Reveal below!
The game will be available on Play Station 4, Google Stadia, Xbox One, and PC. CD Projekt Red has announced that anyone who purchases the game for Xbox One will receive the upgraded Series X port. No announcements have been made for the other platforms CyberPunk 2077 will be available on.
How Many Editions Will CyberPunk 2077 have?
CyberPunk 2077 will have only two editions at the time of release – the Standard Edition and a Collector’s Edition.
The Standard Edition on Xbox, PlayStation, and PC will cost $59.99. Players who purchase a physical copy of the game will get a world compendium of CyberPunk 2077, a disc case, a map, and various postcards from Night City as well as a sticker bomb set. Along with all of that, the physical copy will include a copy of the game’s soundtrack, the CyberPunk 2077 sourcebook, an art booklet, and wallpapers for desktop and mobile.
The Collector’s Edition for Xbox, PlayStation, and PC will cost $249.99 and will feature all of the digital and physical bonuses listed above along with many other items. Let’s see, the Collector’s Edition box and a 10″ action figure of a male V. That’s right, you can play as a female V too.
This version also includes embroidered patches, a randomized collectible steelbook, a metal pin set, a Quadra V-Tech Metal Keychain, God this doesn’t end, a “Guide to Night City” sealed in a game-original evidence bag and an exclusive hardcover art book. Sounds like a game lover’s paradise. While we can’t wait to decorate our dens with all this paraphernalia, do know that most of these bundles are already sold out.
There are also reports of a super-rare CyberPunk 2077 themed Xbox One X console, which will be bundled with a CyberPunk 2077 controller (available separately too), an exclusive HDMI cable (I just can’t see the point in this) which is a solid-colored HDMI cable which does exactly the same things a normal HDMI cable does, and a digital copy of the game after its launch. What makes it super-rare is the fact that only 45,000 units will be available for purchase worldwide.
Did Someone Say Something About A Pre-Order Bonus?
Yup. CyberPunk 2077 has a lot of unique pre-order bonus items. But, it’ll depend on where you buy it. While GameStop is offering a Samurai Medallion, Best Buy is handing out a free randomized steelbook case, different from the one available in the Collector’s Edition, and a $10 reward for My Best Buy Members.
Ordering from GOG.com will get you an exclusive digital booklet about the game, more desktop and mobile wallpapers, and high-quality CyberPunk 2977 posters.
