What is Death on the Nile about?
In the book, Detective Poirot sets himself out on a murder investigation while on holiday in Egypt. He is approached by a socialite, Linnet, who wanted to distract her friend Jacqueline from running after her because she had married Jacqueline’s fiancee.
When Linnet is known to be shot dead while travelling on a steamer up the Nile, on which Detective Poirot is also a passenger, it becomes the detective’s responsibility to find out the murderer. Although Jacqueline is the most obvious suspect, no passenger on the boat is safe from Poirot’s investigation.
