As we come to know about the release of ‘Floor is Lava’ on 19th June 2020, it was seen that Netflix aired one of the most popular childhood games in the reality TV world. The game show presents several teams who enter a room and navigate themselves through several obstacle courses to reach the exit.
But, there is an exception which is that the floor is filled with lava (orange liquid) which approves the title ‘Floor is Lava’. The team that manages to score the most points without falling, wins a grand cash prize.
The intriguing and entertaining reality is produced and brought to us by Megan McGrath and Irad Eyal of Haymaker Media Group. Season 1 received good reviews from the audiences for the absolute entertainment and ridiculously funny concept that brings out the enthusiasm of the adults for clinging onto objects as if their whole existence is depending on it.
Well, if you belong to that bunch of the audience who enjoyed the show, then you must be wondering whether we will see a ‘Floor is Lava’ season 2? Here is everything you need to know.
Floor Is Lava season 2 release date

We don’t actually have any official announcements or information about Floor Is Lava season 2. It wouldn’t seem absolutely crazy that it doesn’t. But, of course, this means that filming isn’t happening due to the current Coronavirus pandemic.
All reality shows need to go through the audition process. Once the show is shown the green light for the production of the second season, we’re probably looking at 12 months at the very least for the episodes of Floor is Lava Season 2 to head to Netflix. It’ll likely take longer than that. Maybe summer to winter 2021.
Floor Is Lava Season 2 Host

Rutledge Wood is the main host of the reality competition show, Floor is Lava. The Alabama native is originally an auto racing analyst and is very well-known for co-hosting History’s ‘Top Gear‘. He also served as the main host for the ‘NASCAR Trackside’ and Speed Road Tour Challenge 2007.
His responsibility as the host of Floor is Lava is to let the teams know about the rules and regulations needed to be followed while being in the competition and also update them regarding their points.
What is Floor Is Lava All About?

So, Floor is Lava is a reality show, where each season follows up with more or less the same format. Each episode features three teams who compete for a grand cash prize. The main objective of the competition is to enter a room, make their way through the obstacle course in whatever way they can manage to and reach the exit without falling into the lava, which is actually the orange fluid.
The fluid appears to be like real lava because of the extra lighting and obviously, childhood nostalgia causes the person to believe it to be real. As the competition starts, the team members have to enter one by one, as fast as possible, and get out of the room.

The obstacles are set up in beautifully designed rooms that actually looks like a basement, bedroom, planetarium, kitchen, and study. The team members can either make their way to the exit by jumping from the bed to the set-up sofa or maybe can go clinging to the wall and swing through their way with the help of the several punching bags.
Each member who successfully reaches the exit gets a point. If there’s a tie between the teams, the one team who has managed to complete the challenge faster takes away the win and also wins the grand amount of $10,000, along with a lamp-shaped “Volcano of Victory.”
