The guy Moritz’s is based on is actually named Maximilian S. In 2013, 18 years old, Max created an online shop called Shiny Flakes to sell drugs from his childhood bedroom. He made millions of euros worth of bitcoin! Genius, if you ask me. But we have to draw the line somewhere. He smartly disguised the revenue as the profit of a web-design business but was eventually caught.
Unlike the show, Max didn’t have a friend to help him. He did it all on his own. Although Max kept his website hidden within the dark web, he made a couple of mistakes IRL that ended up getting him arrested. Once the authority had a lead on Max, they bought drugs from his website as a test.
Once they witnessed an exchange of drugs, the police confronted Max. He tried to destroy his hard drives, but he wasn’t quick enough. The police arrested him and seized drugs worth 4.1 million euros.
Max was tried as a minor, so he only got seven years in prison for his crimes. He is serving since 2015, but he has privileges. He can go out during the daytime, and when he heard his story was being adopted by Netflix for a show, he literally just showed up at the production set! The boy sure is helpful.

The second season of how to sell drugs online (fast) is all set to premiere on 21st July, 2020. And with season two just around the corner, y’all need to watch the season one too! How to sell drugs online (fast) has all the ingredients it needs to win the hearts of teenagers – whose issues are eagerly discussed in short monologues by a chirpy Moritz, simultaneously making the hearts of their parents skip a beat or two.

For all those who haven’t seen the first season of How to sell drugs online (fast), here is a quick recap. The creative team ended Season 1 on a cliffhanger and left us hungry for more. Moritz becomes a successful dealer on the dark web, being a self-professed nerd genius, only to bring his business to the regular old Internet with a site called MyDrugs with the help of his reluctant best friend, Lenny. Starting off as a small-time business, it quickly spirals out of control.
Now, most of you are wondering where does Lisa fit in, right? So Lisa was Moritz’s childhood girlfriend, more or less. She goes abroad for her studies, and when she returns she tells Moritz that she needs space. Devastated by this, Moritz decides to log onto her Facebook account and discovers she’s been using ecstasy (the drug).
Moritz goes home, opens his laptop, and searches for “how to sell drugs online.” He even convinces the local drug-dealer to sell him all his supplies even when Moritz is short on cash.
The ending of the show shows us, Moritz, enlisting his rival’s help in saving his best friend from the clutches of the drug dealer (who returned for his money). In the process, the dealer dies, and Lenny is saved. The credits show older versions of Lenny and Lisa in doubt of Moritz’s version of events. Lenny begins to tell what happened afterward.
How To Sell Drugs Online (Fast) takes the usual young-adult formula of “losing the girl and doing anything to get her back” formula and puts it into a show that’s thoroughly modern and inventive.
According to the official synopsis for how to sell drugs online (fast) season 2, “After a bumpy start into their business, Moritz and the MyDrugs crew ramp up their hustle, the online drug shop gets more successful – and even more dangerous. Escobar said, “All empires are built of blood and fire.” But, well, he didn’t have to do it while finishing high school…”
After making 1 million euros with their “business,” they decide to quit, but it was not that simple. This decision doesn’t sit well with Moritz’s ego. Also, they are being followed by not only cops but two street gangsters.
