Lovecraft Country
Jordan Peels and J.J. Abrams are the two executive producers behind Lovecraft Country, the shiny new HBO series. Okay, maybe not so shiny as spooky. It circles around Atticus Black and his Lovecraftian Monsters. So far as the trailer is concerned, it looks like a very cool blend of genres. Set in the 1950s, it’ll be interesting to watch the African American travelling across the U.S. in search of his father and the challenges he faces, both natural and supernatural. The show is set to release in August.
Reno 911
I haven’t watched Reno 911 in a very long time, but this revival looks like something I cannot ignore. It hasn’t lost its ridiculousness, not even a little bit. The trailer is funny, sort of? The show will release on Quibi and returns on May 4th.
The Painter And The Thief
“Riveting. A work of art unto itself.” -IndieWire.
The trailer The Painter And The Thief presents a very fresh take on story-telling as a painter’s masterpieces are stolen in broad daylight. She tracks him down and befriends him. The Painter And The Thief looks like a fascinating story and shows great potential. It was rated 100% by Rotten Tomatoes. Really looking forward to this one. Be sure to watch it when it comes out on May 22nd.
Homecoming
A new season of Homecoming is coming up on Amazon. The trailer looks extremely thrilling and one of the biggest reasons to revisit the show for the second season is Janelle Monáe in the lead. The show premieres on 22nd May.
