The Devil delivers a jaw-dropping performance in the most awaited show, ‘Lucifer Season 5’, that premiered on Netflix recently. We couldn’t help but notice how Lucifer is slowly arching towards a family drama, but we don’t mind watching it for its twisted narratives and characters. The show got a little too Biblical with the way things went down in the finale of Part 1, episode 8.
To break things down, THT brings you ‘Lucifer Season 5 Ending Explained’.
The midseason finale of Lucifer was insane as it ended with a drag out show-down between the angels and demons. The wings of fury were brawling it out as Michael and Lucifer went head-on against each other.
Lucifer Season 5 was slated to pick up from where season 4 had left off, and it did justice to that. Michael comes to earth and pretends to be Lucifer to wreak havoc in his life. Lucifer and Chloe seal the deal and make their relationship official. Lucifer’s mojo dwindles between him and his lady love Chloe.
Meanwhile, Michael conspires to bring down Lucifer once and for all as he manipulates Dan and Mazikeen to make them his pawns. He repeatedly says, “it is all part of a bigger plan,” but we still don’t know much about it.
Towards the end, Michael also manages to feed on Amenadiel’s fears about his son Charlie, who, by the way, may not be a celestial being. Amenadiel ends up freezing time just when Lucifer was going to tell Chloe that he loves her.
When the crooked shouldered Michael challenges Lucifer and Amenadiel, it leads to an archangelic show-down, giving us the battle of angels we had all been waiting for so eagerly. While the celestial brothers were busy headbutting each other, they experience a Divine Intervention. God, their father, comes to earth to stop them (this was one spectacular entry).
So far, we know that Michael is the only one to communicate with God for a while now. Maybe, the Archangel must have been feeding lies this whole time to God to build his version of the narrative. Only God knows what lies ahead in Part 2 of Lucifer.
Although we don’t have the premiere date of Lucifer Season 5, Part 2, here are some predictions about what could happen in the second half of the season—
1. Michael’s “Big plan” is to kill Lucifer.
Michael is hell-bent on defeating Lucifer because he has been living in his shadow for eons. He is tired of being the second most potent Archangel. So he wants to settle the score with Lucifer by defeating him to satisfy his ego.
2. Lucifer loses Chloe
We saw that Lucifer is not vulnerable around Chloe anymore, and it could be because he does not feel the same way he used to about her. He conquered what he initially wanted to.
Michael aggravated her fears in the cave, so she’s desperate to find out about Luci’s true feelings for her.
3. Ella finds out Lucifer’s true identity and tries to kill him.
Ella has a special place for Lucifer in her heart, and when she finds out the truth about him, she may try to kill him out of fear.
4. Mazikeen finds her ‘soulmate’.
Mazikeen’s abandonment issue is highlighted through Lucifer Season 5, and her character has gone through many changes. She even cries while talking to Amenadiel about how she feels. Chances are, she will redeem herself and eventually find a soulmate.
5. Dan Dies
He is still not over Charlotte’s death, and he is trying too hard to get past that. There could be a massive celestial battle going down in Lucifer Season 5, part 2, and Dan could play a significant role in it.
He might be one of the major characters to die in the war, joining Charlotte in Heaven. This is a possible theory as it brings his character full circle.
6. Lucifer loses his immortality
Michael’s bigger plans may involve a battle, and during this time, God may punish Lucifer by taking away his immortality. Or maybe, he will choose to lose it so that he can grow old like a mortal with the love of his life, Chloe.
7. Chloe and Lucifer’s lovechild
The prophecy that Father Kingsley had mentioned in Season 4, “When the Devil finds his first love, evil shall be released.” This is too good to be accurate, but there are chances that this is the event that the father told Chloe about.
