Finally, after more than 20 years, a Mortal Kombat movie is returning to the theatres. Every child has played the video game where you would rip out your friend’s spine and then grin at them for long just to pile more misery. The original Mortal Kombat movie was a decent watch, but let’s not talk about Mortal Kombat: Annihilation.
James Wan, the director of The Conjuring and Aquaman, is working on this new Mortal Kombat movie, although he’s just the producer. Making his directorial debut on this new Mortal Kombat movie is Simon McQuoid, and it reported that he is also working on the Resident Evil reboot. Now, we from The Hollywood Tribune are going to delve deeper into this new Mortal Kombat movie.
What is the Plot All About?
The movie’s writer Greg Russo wrote on Twitter, “MK WILL be R-Rated and for the first time EVER, FATALITIES will FINALLY be on the big screen (and no I’m not saying which ones) You’ll just have to wait for the movie & see!!!”
Who’s in the Cast?
Mortal Kombat will for sure have a large ensemble cast, and let’s just start it. Ludy Lin is playing “Lui Lang’, Mechad Brooks plays “Jax,” Jessica McNamee plays “Sonya Blade,” Josh Lawson plays “Kano,” Tadanobu Asano plays “Raiden,” Hiroyuki Sanada plays “Scorpion,” Joe Taslim plays “Sub-Zero,” Chin Han plays “Shang Tsung,” Sisi Stringer plays “Mileena,” Max Huang plays “Kung Lao,” and Lewis Tan plays an unknown role, but fans are guessing he will play “Johnny Cage,” but it has not been revealed as of yet.
When Will The Mortal Kombat Movie Release?
Has any Mortal Kombat Trailer Released?
We’re sorry to disappoint as the answer is no. The first footage of this film will likely release in Comic-Con, and not much can be said apart from that.
