German shows are such trendsetters, and they usually bring new to the table. They have given us some fantastic and mind-boggling shows like Dark, Freud and quirky comedy show like How to Sell Drugs Online (Fast).
Coming soon is another German Netflix Original Series called Biohackers, and it is a total game-changer as it goes on to portray the world of genetic modification through the eyes of a young university student. Here’s everything that you need to know before the show releases—
What Is Netflix’s Biohackers All About?
The brand new Netflix German thriller show revolves around biohacking. It is the science of optimising your lifespan and body through genetic enhancements.
Release Date of Netflix’s Biohackers:

The thriller series was initially supposed to be up for streaming by the end of April 2020, it was pushed back to August 20th, not because it has anything to do with the pandemic, but the opening scene is very disturbing, and it may not be taken in a good way by the viewers.
The show consists of six episodes which will be dropping on Netflix all at once.
Plot of Netflix’s Biohackers:

The story follows a rivalry between two women, Mia (Luna Wedler) and Lorenz (Jessica Schwarz). Mia is a medical student in her first term, and she boldly pursues a secret. Lorenz plays the role of her adversary, a famous lecturer and a bioscientist.
According to the official synopsis on Netflix that reads, “What if students secretly experiment with biohacking technologies that could change humanity? Biohackers tells a highly-gripping story about friendship, love and revenge at a German University that is overshadowed by a revolutionary biohacking-technology and its ethical implications.”
Cast of Netflix’s Biohackers:

Luna Wedler plays the role of Mia, a university student in the first year who is holding a secret. Jessica Schwarz plays the role of an acclaimed professor Lorenz. Other cast members include German stars Thomas Prenn, Jing Xiang and Sebastian Jakob Doppelbauer.
In an interview with express.co.uk, Caro Cult who plays Mia’s roomie said that “My character in Biohackers is actually the only one who’s not into biohacking.” Caro also said, “She’s a powerful woman who is very strong and brings a lot of the liberal feminist side to the series.”
“She’s also super free and funny and just lives the life she wanted to live and goes with the flow.” She added.
The actress also went on to describe the show as she said, ”It’s about roommates who live in Freiburg, which is a town where a lot of students live, and they are all super-geniuses in biology and medicine, and it gets a bit tricky because people who are into biohacking start to try stuff out on their own bodies.”
So it’s a thriller, but it also has a lot of comedic aspects to it, which is a cool mix!
