In this song, she describes a dazed feeling about a kiss at a party, followed by looming thoughts and self-questioning, wondering if the kiss was intentional in the first place!
Viral TikTok star Emma Oliver recently dropped her brand new single “I’m Sorry, I Miss You”, and it is so good that it will take you down a beautiful memory lane. Emma’s has a humorous personality, and her songs are just the stark opposite. Nonetheless, they’re still going to make you think about memories you forgot you even had.
The ‘Sad Sometimes’ hitmaker released this new song, ‘I’m Sorry, I Miss You’ on September 16, in continuation to her sequence of emotionally danceable hits. After her song ‘Sad Sometimes’ received about 400k streams on Spotify, Emma has begun her ascend on a stairway to the music industry.
In this song, she describes a dazed feeling about a kiss at a party, followed by looming thoughts and self -questioning, wondering if the kiss was intentional in the first place! At some point in our lives, we have all been there, done that and probably felt this way too. This makes this song all the more relatable too.
The Hollywood Tribune got in touch with Emma and she spoke to us about her latest single “I’m sorry I miss you”! You can read the full interview below followed by a detailed review of “I’m sorry I miss you”.
Emma Oliver Interview
Tell us how you got into music!
So, I’ve been singing for most of my life but around 16 or 17 I got into playing shows and getting familiar with everything. I played a show in a local coffee shop that did open mics and I played one song and came off. It was my first time there and I was a really shy kid back then. But the manager asked me to come back and play an actual show there and that was when I realised that was what I wanted to do for the rest of my life!
What were your thoughts while producing ‘I’m sorry I miss you’ and what inspired you to write it?
I was writing it with my producer Michael from Loyalties, and we just had a basic idea of how we wanted the song to be and what we wanted it to be about. Teenage drama and kind of like, how you do things when you’re a kid.
We started writing on that and then it because sort of a house party themed kind of thing. You know, you’re vibing with somebody but they don’t quite vibe with you the same so they just kinda just leave you hanging. It’s a sad song but with a funky beat and I’m excited for it to come out! It’s gonna be dope.
Do you have any new music that you’d like to talk about?
I’m writing a ton right now. I’m in the process of getting some other songs done, and I don’t have titles yet but I’m pretty excited about what’s to come next and it’s gonna be awesome!
What kind of Songs/Artists do you listen to? What genres do you prefer?
I listen to everything. From classical to jazz to rap and hip-hop and all that’s stuff but I think some of my favourites are Julia Michaels, Post Malone, Black and a bunch of other people.
What would you like to say to aspiring artists who have just started out or are about to begin their musical journey?
My advice to them would be never to stop. There are times where it’s gonna get hard and time when you’ll feel you don’t have enough money and you don’t have enough space in your brain to write and put out music but at the same time, if you know that that’s what you want to do for the rest of your life and that’s what you’re passionate about, then don’t let anything stop you.
It’s only a matter of time before you find your niche and things and it’s all worth it in the end for sure!
Here’s what we think about Emma Oliver’s ‘I’m Sorry, I Miss You’:
Emma Oliver’s ‘I’m Sorry, I Miss You’ Review
Lyrics
The lyrics are very well put together painting a picture of what could have gone down at the party. When she says—
“I bet you make moves like this on everyone you see
Am I just everyone to you?”
That makes us think if the person that kissed her meant to give it to her or somebody else. With the hazy lights and high spirits at the party, faces may have gone blur too, so she indulges in self-doubt. Instead of living in the moment, she goes on to question her feelings.
Vocals
Her voice is equally powerful and beautiful as she brings raw emotions into play with just her tone. She makes us feel so many feelings of doubt, restless love, confusion and hope all at once.
Instrumentation
When we heard the instrumentation, it has very party-like music. It is sad and danceable at the same time! The song is produced by the duo, ‘loyalties’, as it takes us to that party where Emma is questioning the intent of the kiss.
General Impression
It seems like she is an old school hopeless romantic in a party by a bunch of people who are all about hooking-up. It is overall a good song that brings a multitude of emotions and gives us a mixed feeling about the intent of the kiss. This song is an introspective push and pull about her emotions, validation, thirst for love and a hope for…one more kiss.
That’s all for this Friday’s Feature and we hope to have you back next week! See you then.

They call me a content wizard because I can 'Alohomora' my way into creative writing. I love films, web drama series and scandalous television shows.
Oh, and I have the most adorable cat in the galaxy of existence. For the world he' s Ollie, but for me, he's Ollie-vera...a lot like aloe vera, but Ollie.
