It’s a GIRL!!! Good wishes are flooding in for Sophie Turner and Joe Jonas as they welcomed their first child. The couple has always remained hush-hush about their personal lives, and they cannot stop gloating about the newest addition to their family. The reps of ‘Game of Thrones’ actress and ‘Sucker’ singer confirmed the news of Sophie giving birth to People Magazine. “Sophie Turner and Joe Jonas are delighted to announce the birth of their baby,” they said in their statement.
According to TMZ, who was first in reporting the birth, the couple welcomed a girl named Willa on Wednesday, July 22, at a Los Angeles-area hospital. Entertainment Tonight spoke to a close source regarding their first few days with Willa. “Joe and Sophie welcomed a baby girl last Wednesday in LA and are over the moon,” the source also said. “The couple is already obsessed and can’t stop gloating about their new addition. The couple is taking time to enjoy this special moment and have only shared the news and updates with family and friends. With the pandemic, Joe and Sophie have been very cautious about who is around them and their little girl.”
Turner’s first news of pregnancy stirred up earlier in February. Another source told JustJarred, which broke the pregnancy news that “the couple is keeping things very hush-hush but their friends and family are super excited for them.”
According to Us Weekly in February, the two were thrilled to be welcoming their first baby soon. “Having children and starting a family was part of Joe and Sophie’s plan,” the source said. “They’ve always known they’ve wanted kids.”
During the pandemic, Sophie has been staying indoors and taking a great deal of care to stay safe especially during pregnancy. She had been quarantining with Joe Jonas and she was quite vocal about how much she had enjoyed that experience. She spoke during an interview with Conan O’Brien in April and she said, “I’m an introvert; I’m a homebody,”
Turner started. “If I could stay at home all day, I would so this is great for me. I leave the house once a day anyway to walk my dogs and then that’s it so. I see how people are finding it difficult, but I don’t understand how people are really struggling to practice social distancing. I’m like all you have to do is stay at home and like get drunk at home, right?”
With Jonas and her, “Everything seems to be working in my favour here because Joe’s a real social butterfly so I struggle to lock him down and have him just spend time with me so it’s like a prison for him [being in quarantine], but it’s great for me,” she mused.
The couple got engaged in 2017 and they also had an impromptu wedding in a chapel which was officiated by Elvis Presley impersonator in Vegas last year. However, their official wedding took place soon after the Jonas Brothers attended the Billboard Awards.
