It’s been a little bit over a year since Marvel Presented is with the cinematic masterpiece that was ‘Avengers: Endgame’. Endgame was an experience on its own and left all of us extremely shocked and utterly heartbroken (you know exactly what we’re talking about) and also pretty satisfied with the perfect ending.
Of course, Marvel has always held up a reputation of not to keep their fans waiting for too long as it has been quite consistent with producing movies (no offence, DC fans) and shortly after Endgame, Spider-Man: Far From Home hit the theatres only a couple of months ago.
However, as the coronavirus pandemic put the entire world on hold, the entertainment industry suffered its wrath. Despite this, the Marvel fans still have something exciting to expect from this summer! And that is, Marvel’s very own Miniseries called The Falcon and The Winter Soldier. The show will stream on Disney + and it has also been confirmed that it will take the story set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe forward, i.e. what happened post Endgame.
So here’s what we know about Marvel’s The Falcon And The Winter Soldier:
The Falcon And The Winter Soldier Plot
After the series got announced, its snippet was debuted in the form of a Super Bowl trailer, where you could see falcon flying around in his suit and also practising his skills with the iconic Cap shield. We believe, Bucky and Sam will probably be teaming up to fight off bad guys.
The Falcon And The Winter Soldier Cast
As per the confirmed details, not only Anthony Mackie and Sebastian Stan will be reprising their roles as Wilson and Barnes, but Daniel Brühl as Baron Helmut Zemo will also be a part of the series. Yes, he’s the bad guy from Captain America: Civil War, responsible for Avengers getting divided into 2 teams.
The Falcon And The Winter Soldier Release Date
As the show will be streaming on Disney +, Bob Iger the CEO of Disney said that Marvel’s first Disney + series, Falcon And The Winter Soldier will be released this year in the month of August. Although he didn’t mention any specific date, Iger confirmed that the series will play a role in putting things into perspective in the Marvel Cinematic Universe as a whole.
The Falcon And The Winter Soldier Poster Release
The poster for the Marvel series also got released during D23 Expo by Disney. Both the lead characters can be seen in the poster while flashing their new looks for the series. You can definitely spot the hues of blue, white and red in the new suit worn by the Falcon in the picture, meanwhile, Bucky looks the same old. He, however, has shorter hair in the poster, as compared to what he looked like in Endgame.
Falcon, as well as the Winter Soldier, made their debuts in the Marvel Cinematic Universe through the parts featured in Captain America’s solo series within Marvel Studios.
James Barnes i.e. Bucky appeared as the Cap’s childhood friend in the film, ‘Captain America: The First Avenger’, and then in ‘Captain America: The Winter Soldier’. It was revealed throughout these films that Barnes served during World War II and was captured by HYDRA, the malicious organisation. That’s not all, the poor fellow suffered a terrible fate as he got trained to be an assassin, brainwashed, and got an extremely powerful cybernetic arm to replace the one he lost during the war.
As he was kept within the cryogenic storage as he carried out the missions assigned by Hydra, he remained young through all these years. Once he was confronted by his long lost friend Steve Rodgers, it helped him get his memories back. Following this, has helped the avengers during multiple occasions.
It has been heart-warming to see the television series falling within the 4th phase of Marvel shaping up so beautifully. Apart from The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, Disney + will be streaming WandaVision, as the Scarlet Witch in the lead and the most awaited show ‘Loki’ with Tom Hiddleston.
