Parasite is a black comedy Korean thriller directed by Bong Joon-ho. The film sure got attention from the critics and public to become the first non-English film to win the Academy Award for Best Picture. The film stars Song Kang-ho, Chang Hyae-jin, Choi Woo-Shik and Park So-dam in their lowly semi-basement home. A tale of two families from opposite ends of the socio-economic spectrum, the film follows a poor family that bluff their way into the lives of a wealthy household.
In a world of vertical non-integration, Parasite finds gasp-inducing depths lurking beneath even the most apparently placid surfaces. A melancholy ghost story, it’s a tragicomic masterclass that will get under your skin and eat away at your soul. This movie was definitely a worthy mention in our Trending Movies on HULU.
It grossed over $266 million worldwide on a production budget of about $11 million, becoming the highest-grossing South Korean film. It also won many accolades including the Best International Feature Film.
The Dark Knight (2008)

Now, who doesn’t love Batman? The 2008 superhero film is the second instalment to 2005’s Batman Begins and directed by Christopher Nolan. I love this guy’s work! We all have, at some point, seen this classic Batman movie but if you haven’t, well, go watch it now. One year after the events of Batman Begins (2008), Bruce Wayne aka Batman (Christian Bale), Lieutenant James Gordon (Gary Oldman) and District Attorney Harvey Dent (Aaron Eckhart) plan to launch an attack on the mob.
But when a vile young criminal calling himself “The Joker” (Heath Ledger) suddenly throws the city into chaos, Batman has to fight injustice as well as tread a fine line between hero and vigilante.
