Wonder Woman 1984: Release Date And What To Expect?

When Wonder Woman released in 2017, and eventually grossed more than $389 million at the US box office, it was one of the year’s biggest hits among the audience. The fans fell in love with the sheer elegance of Gal Gadot and Patty Jenkins had really outdone herself, as it was quite proven by the various awards the movie collected.

Thus it encouraged the filmmakers to produce another, equally-entertaining Wonder Woman movie. The exciting trailer of Wonder Woman 1984 promised the audience that it would be a journey of their lifetime. With enhanced graphics pairing up with the superb acting talents of the star-studded cast, it is totally worth for another incredible superhero movie.

Katarzyna Chojnacka Interview: All My Friends Are Dead

12 February 2021

Here is everything you need to know about Wonder Woman 1984, which includes the official release date, the official cast members, what we can expect from the movie, that being said that it is not actually a direct sequel to the original one, and of course, the official trailer of Wonder Woman 1984.

When will ‘Wonder Woman 1984’ be released?

It was initially set to hit the theatres on December 13, 2019. However, there has been a number of shifts and push backs in the release date due to the ongoing Coronavirus crisis.

Initially, after being delayed to June 2020 and then to August, the current release date is set for October 2. The movie was supposed to be released 35 years after its title date, but will now debut 36 years later.

Who is in the cast of Wonder Woman 1984?

wonder womanWarner Bros has announced that Gal Gadot will be returning to play the extraordinary superhero in the Wonder Woman 1984. Without Gal Gadot, there is no Wonder Woman.

Through the official trailer, it can be said that Chris Pine will be returning, which has now been confirmed by Warner Bros. Kirsten Wiig was confirmed to be playing the villain Cheetah in the Wonder Woman 1984.

Meanwhile, Pedro Pascal has been cast to portray Maxwell Lord, an influential character in the Justice League’s formation and history.

Speaking of characters rising back from the dead, Robin Wright confirmed that she would be returning in Wonder Woman 1984 as Antiope alongside Connie Nielsen’s Hippolyta, but only in a flashback sequence.

Wonder Woman Not A Reboot

If the title didn’t give it away, Wonder Woman 1984 will be set in 1984 which is a big-time jump from the 1918-set first movie – although we have seen Diana Prince in modern times in Batman vs. Superman and the Justice League.

The official trailer debuted some Orwellian themes, already teased by the images released ahead of the trailer.

The storyline fast forwards to the 1980s as Wonder Woman’s next big-screen adventure being to face two all-new foes: Max Lord and The Cheetah.

Other than that, we don’t know all too much about the sequel, other than apparently it isn’t really a sequel.

Charles Roven, the producer of Wonder Woman 1984, made comments on the upcoming movie being the “next iteration” of Wonder Woman, with a “completely different story” compared to the original one.

Wonder Woman 1984 Official Trailer –

Wonder Woman 1984 finally got its first full-length trailer on December 8. The preview gives a good glimpse of the introduction to the 1980s setting of the movie and some of the new faces, some familiar characters — that will appear in Wonder Woman 1984. Speaking of music, the legendary Hans Zimmer returns here for his sixth DC film and the trailer also features an interesting version of New Order’s Blue Monday.
