The lockdown did not stop Tom Cruise from performing those death-defying stunts. After a personal call to a member of the UK government, the filming of the next installment in the series, Mission Impossible 7, is set to resume in Britain.
Tom Cruise spoke with the UK Culture Secretary Oliver Dowden, and it has been confirmed that filming will be allowed in England. However, safety comes first. Thus, a small number of cast and crew are present at the scene to work.
The release date of both the movies Mission: Impossible films 7 and 8 have already been announced. The crew was filming back-to-back prior to the global coronavirus pandemic. Woefully, this halted several filming schedules worldwide.
Mission Impossible 7 and 8 were originally set to release in the UK on 23rd July 2021 and 5th August 2022, respectively.
However, with coronavirus putting a halt to everything, including filming, the seventh film’s release date has been pushed back to November 2021.
THE CAST MEMBERS
Tom Cruise is going to be back as daredevil IMF agent Ethan Hunt in both movies, with Rebecca Ferguson to return as MI6 ally Ilsa Faust for at least Mission Impossible 7. The new addition in this movie was Hayley Atwell.
She will be the female lead in both films.
McQuarrie revealed that Pom Klementieff from Guardians of the Galaxy would join the franchise as a new femme fatale. In addition to that X-Men’s Nicholas Hoult has joined the team and is rumored to be a villain. The Franchise regulars Simon Pegg, Ving Rhames, and Jeremy Renner have yet to be confirmed but are also likely candidates.
THE STORYLINE
It is said that Mission Impossible 7 and 8 “swallows the last three movies whole”, said the director Christopher McQuarrie.
“I pitched the idea of making two movies, and now I have to justify why it’s two movies.”
It is also possible that after the last film, villain Soloman Lane ( played by Sean Harris ) may be back as the antagonist. We will keep you guys up to date!
THE TRAILER
The film is still in pre-production stages, so hold your horses, the trailer might release in 2021.
